I'm 16! Sooo…I want to dunk a basketball!?

So far I’m 5′9 without shoes, and about 5′10 with shoes. I weight 155lbs. I’m aiming to lose about 10-12 lbs jump roping. Do you think losing weight would help my vertical jump along with jump roping?

For dunking these are the exercises I should do daily:
-200 calf raises (with a gym machine)
-200 squats (gym machine also)
-50 jumps with me jumping as high as I could

^Good routine?

I can touch the metal orange part of the rim that’s connected to the backboard. Since I can jump that high, how long do you think it would take before I can touch the rim or dunk?

How can I jump higher?

Hey im a 13 yr old guy, 6′1, 152 lbs, LOVE basketball, but i can’t dunk. I actually can barely touch the rim. Any exercises or tips on jumping would be appreciated, thanks.

Great exercises for increasing my vertical leap quickly?

Hello, I’m 5′11′ and can barely touch the rim when I make a running jump from the center line to the rim. I have never measured my vertical leap, so I don’t know how high my vertical leap though. Anyway, I would like to dunk. I am daily working out pretty hard to be able to dunk by the 2007 Summer. I want to see some improvement quickly. What are killer lower body exercises that can enhance my jumping ability significantly? Thank you.
By the way, I’m not a high school student. I’m a college pre-frosh, but I just want to dunk. Dunking has been one of my life-time goals

how many sets and reps of exercise should i do to jump higher?

I want to be able to dunk a basketball. I already play around 3hours and 30mins Mon-Firday so i exersice my legs every day. I need like 4-5 inches to touch the rim so i would like to know my many sets and reps of calf raises,squats,and lunges i should do a day to inches my leg strength.

Can I dunk? And growing taller question!!?

Well, I just turned 16. I hit my growth spurt in 7th grade (because that’s when my voice deepened). So far I’m 5′9 without shoes, about 5′10 with shoes. What age do you think I’ll stop growing seeing that I hit my growth spurt in 7th grade? Do you think I’ll hit 6ft at least (with shoes? and how about without?)

Also for dunking what exercises should I do to jump higher? I can touch a bit above the rubber part that’s glued onto the backboard that’s located lower portion of the backboard. Since I can jump that high, how long do you think it would take before I can touch the rim?
